Member Spotlight: RV Life with Kimberly
Kimberly Crossland, an accomplished RV life podcast host and a member of Land Academy, sat down with us to talk about her experiences and how land investing became a part of her adventurous RV lifestyle. Kimberly’s journey is not just about investment, it’s about integrating work with her personal life, especially her role as a mother and an entrepreneur.
Kimberly’s professional life has spanned everything from copywriting to business coaching. However, the birth of her children marked a turning point, shifting her focus towards more flexible, family-oriented endeavors. The pandemic in early 2020 amplified this shift, leading her to step back from her demanding role in consultancy to focus on her family, a decision that eventually opened the door to land investing.
The introduction to land investing came through a recommendation from a friend. This suggestion seemed like a perfect fit for Kimberly and her husband, offering a way to generate income while embracing their love for RV travel. This idea was appealing as it provided potential financial stability without compromising their time with their children or their passion for travel.
Kimberly and her husband took a collaborative approach to learning the land investment business. They started by observing and gradually participating more actively, with Kimberly initially handling communication roles due to her strengths in dealing with clients and negotiation. This teamwork allowed them to learn from each other and efficiently manage their business roles.
Their first actual experience in doing land deals was cautious but rewarding, emphasizing the importance of a balanced approach to new ventures. They ensured that each step was a learning experience, contributing to better decision-making in future transactions. Their methodical approach paid off, allowing them to make significant profits from their initial deals and providing a foundation to scale their operations.
What stands out in Kimberly’s story is her emphasis on maintaining a balanced life. She prioritizes her children and personal fulfillment over financial gain. Land investing has bridged those two things, allowing her to bring in incredible profits while having enough time for children.
For those considering a similar path, Kimberly suggests embracing the learning curve with patience and ensuring a solid understanding of the business before diving in. She advocates for using technology to streamline operations, emphasizing the benefits of digital organization tools like AirTable and Excel to keep track of deals and client interactions.
Kimberly’s journey with Land Academy is a testament to the power of integrating work with personal passions and family life. It showcases how land investing can be adapted to suit different lifestyles, making it a viable option for those seeking a non-traditional business model that accommodates flexibility and family time. Remember, the majority of our successful members are working 10-15 hours per week and making much more than they did in their traditional w2 jobs. You can too.
